Supporting you in finding a way forward

Life can be hard at times and we can find ourselves struggling with the path we are on. If you are reading this then I’m guessing life is presenting a challenge and we can all need a little help sometimes. To take the first step can be hard but I am here to support you in finding a way forwards.

About Counselling

Clouds picture

The therapeutic relationship is very important to me as when a person is free of judgment and is ‘seen’ for who they are it encourages the client to feel safe and supported. Allowing for a positive, empathic and compassionate relationship where we can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours enabling a better understanding of self and others. As a compassionate and experienced therapist, I work integratively which means I use a core approach of client centred therapy, alongside with tools and techniques from other approaches working in a safe confidential space at a pace each client feels comfortable with. My role is to build a collaborative relationship adapting individually to each client’s unique situation, issues and concerns holding a safe confidential and supportive space. This can be via online or telephone.

I am passionate about the work I do and feel honoured that I am trusted with holding my client’s deepest fears, feelings of hopelessness and pain. That they have felt safe to open up to me and allowed me into their lives. Through my years of counselling, I have witnessed many of my clients move from a place hopelessness and pain to a place of peace, understanding and resilience, helping them to move forwards. My practice aligns with ethical and professional standards, ensuring therapeutic alliance between counsellor and client.

Sessions and Cost

Your first counselling session is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and to talk over any worries you have about therapy. Also, it gives us both an opportunity to get a sense if we would work well together. In session we can work on a plan going forwards what you would like to focus on, goals you would like to achieve. We will also discuss dates and times for future therapy appointments and cancellations.

Your counselling sessions will take place remotely (Teams) or telephone usually on a weekly basis, although some clients prefer fortnightly sessions. Whatever your situation, we can work together to create a plan that suits you. Your privacy and confidentiality are very important. Everything you discuss in your session is completely confidential. In rare circumstances where you or another person may be in danger or serious harm. It is required of me to inform an outside party. In such cases we will discuss the situation in-depth and take every possibly step to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation by telephone to help you to understand what to expect and to determine whether counselling is the right choice for you. If we decided to go ahead with therapy, each session will be 60 minutes and my fees are £60 per session. I aim to make therapy affordable and accessible as possible.
